About Holiday Craftly

Holiday Craftly is a small craft site with a pumpkin stencil maker and seasonal project guides. Mix eyes, a nose and a mouth, see the difficulty and an honest time estimate for a first-time carver, and print a stencil to tape onto your pumpkin. A craft calendar shows when to start each holiday’s projects.

What it does today

The stencil maker has seven eye shapes, five noses (including none) and five mouths, which gives 175 designs. Each shape has a complexity score of 0 to 4; eyes count twice because there are two. The total sets a level (Beginner up to 5 points, Easy up to 8, Medium up to 11, Advanced above that) and the time is 15 minutes plus 5 minutes per point. These numbers are our own planning guide, not a measurement.

How we checked it

We opened all 175 combinations in Chrome and compared the level and the minutes shown with the formula written on the page: no differences. We also checked that the “Surprise me” button always leaves one eye, one nose and one mouth chosen, and that the print view shows the stencil alone on one page.

Safety and sources

Children can draw, scoop and decorate; an adult should do the cutting. We suggest an LED light because it gives off no flame. How long a carved pumpkin lasts depends on the weather; the guides we read give roughly three to ten days, with cool air helping, and suggest carving within about a week of Halloween.
